Short Stay Program (Respite)
Purpose of the Program
- The client's caregiver requires a rest or needs to be away
for a specifi event
- The client requires convalescent care upon discharge from the
hospital before returning to his/her home
- The client requires a 24-hour assessment for a new treatment
- A transition to long-term care is beneficial for the client
and the caregiver
Access to the Program
- All arrangements are made through the Peterborough Community
Access Centre at (705) 743-2212
- Each client can use up to 90 days of respite care per calendar
year
- Cost is set by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care
- Current rate is $32.37 per day
