Co-ordinator
of Teen Volunteer Program
Full time, temporary, 35 hours per week,
June 2 to August 29
Minimum of one year post secondary education,
preferably in the field of social sciences, education, human resources
or nursing
Demonstrated leadership ability with
young people
Familiarity with Fairhaven or long-term
care environment is an asset
You
will be responsible for the recruitment, selection, orientation,
placement, scheduling, supervision ,
and evaluation of teen volunteers
during the summer teen program.
DEVELOPMENT
OFFICER, FOUNDATION
The
Development Officer, Foundation is a new position created to oversee
the continuing evolution and growth of the Fairhaven Foundation.
Reporting to the Executive Director, t his
position is responsible for the successful direction, management
and financial viability of the Foundation according to the strategic
direction and identified priorities. The Development Officer, Foundation
will have a demonstrated passion for building relationships with
all aspects of the Fairhaven community as well as furthering the
mission of the Fairhaven Foundation.
You
will:
Cultivate, solicit and maintain long-term fundraising
relationships
Develop and implement comprehensive plans to
raise awareness and funds for the Fairhaven long-term care community
Implement new and imaginative fundraising activities
Engage, recruit and organize individuals, families,
staff and volunteers in fundraising activities
Build long-term sustainable sources of funding
through researching and targeting charitable trusts sympathetic
to Fairhaven 's needs
You
will have:
Post-secondary education in fund development,
marketing or business development
4 - 6 years experience in fundraising
Knowledge and expertise in charitable giving
legislation, particularly related to planned giving
Excellent organization, communication, research,
analytical, interpersonal skills and computer skills
Experience in working with seniors
Membership and/or certification in Association
of Fundraising Professionals (AFP)

Successful
candidates will combine excellent leadership and communication skills
with a dedicated approach to teamwork and exemplary resident care.
Interested applicants must have effective problem solving skills,
and hold a current certificate of competence with the CNO. Experience
in long-term care or gerontology would be an asset.

certified professional dedicated to patient care excellence, you
have related long-term care experience.
RPNs
Part-time, all shifts
Dedicated
to resident care, you have a current certificate of competence with
the CNO, certification in the administration of medications and
surgical asepsis, and are familiar with preventative infection control
measures.
Activationists
Part-time, casual
Activation Technique Certificate or
equivalent required
Experience in the geriatric field
preferred
You will take responsibility for providing
recreational programs to our residents and reporting observations
with the goal of improving their quality of life.
